LIMITED SPACE Drawing & Painting Fundamentals with Ann Ladd
Ages 8 - 11 Mondays, 3:45 - 4:45 pm
7 classes beginning February 27
Young artists will have the opportunity to express their creative talents as they experiment with drawing/painting techniques. They will be introduced to various mediums including colored pencils, watercolor, pastels and tempera in a non-judgmental environment. Students will gain an appreciation for the many different ways artists can use perspective, shading and texture.

Recycled Art with Ann Ladd
Ages 6 - 9 Mondays, 5:00 – 6:00 pm
7 classes beginning February 27
This class is designed to help kids appreciate and learn how to create art with their old broken toys, recycled cans, bottle caps, boxes, ribbons, etc. All the forgotten stuff in the bottom of the toy chest or desk draw can be joined by numerous techniques that will introduce building and construction skill to young kids. This class will spark their imagination and teach them to transform all their old "stuff" into artistic creations, bird, insects, alien creatures, artistic gifts, and more! Just bring in some of your favorite junk and see what they come home with. Come to the first class with a bag of junk you can to begin to work with and get more ideas for the second class.

Drawing & Painting Explorations with Ann Ladd
Ages 8 - 11 Tuesdays, 5:00 – 6:00 pm

This class is designed for all levels. The instructor will work with students to develop their understanding of proportions, planes, and principles of light and dark. Both beginning and advanced students are welcome. Class may work from still-life or model, or on independent projects. Great course for those building a portfolio.

Join local artist, Katharine Dufault, for an informative and fun encaustic painting workshop. Encaustic painting is an ancient technique using a mixture of melted beeswax, resin and pigment which is layered, while wet, onto a porous panel to create works with luminous color and depth. Encaustic Painting Workshop with Katharine Dufault
Adults Saturday, March 10, 12:00 - 4:00 pm
This workshop will be an exciting opportunity to expand ones visual vocabulary with wax! It will provide a hands-on introduction to encaustic painting. Encaustic painting is an ancient technique using a mixture melted beeswax, resin and pigment which is layered, while wet, onto a porous panel to create works with luminous color and depth. Participants are encouraged to bring specific project ideas and subject matter and are welcome to bring works in progress if the surface is sturdy. Each participant will be provided with a 5x7 and 8x10 panel, wax, colors, brushes and more. Limited to 6 students. Fee includes all materials.
