Bijoux Workshop: Trapped in Amber
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 — 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
The first in a series of four hands-on workshops designed for students in grades 1- 3, presented in conjunction with the Museum’s latest science exhibition, Bijoux: The Origins and Impact of Jewelry. Students explore the exhibition with an educator and then create their own replica of an insect trapped in amber! All materials are included. Members $4, non-members $6, per child. F
Bijoux Workshop: Beaded Baubles
Wednesday, July 20, 2011 — 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
The second workshop in a series of four focuses on hands-on activities for students in grades 1 -3, who explore the wide variety of beaded jewelry on view in the exhibition and then experiment by making their own beaded creations. All materials are included. Members $4, non-members $6, per child.

Thursday, July 21, 2011 — 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
The third workshop in a series of four features hands-on activities for students in grades 1 -3 in conjunction with the Museum’s latest science exhibition, Bijoux: The Origins and Impact of Jewelry. Students examine different gemstones and discover the geological forces at work that produced them. A craft activity follows. All materials are included. Members $4, non-members $6, per child. F

The final workshop in a series of four features hands-on activities for students in grades 1-3, who examine the different materials artisans use in contemporary jewelry and then create their own fantastic, found-object jewelry! All materials are included. Members $4, non-members $6, per child.
