Greenwich Community Artists Series
American Leaders, Sculpture by Kenneth R. Bruno
March 2 through April 27, 2011
Mark Twain, by Kenneth R. Bruno
Kenneth R. Bruno will be the first featured artist in the Greenwich Historical Society’s 2011 Community Artists Series. Drawn from an oeuvre of over 180 sculptures, the American Leaders Collection focuses on historic figures, who displayed strength of character in the face of leadership challenges. The anthology represents a strong thematic connection to the Historical Society’s next major exhibitionVoices of the Civil War, which will run concurrently beginning March 6.
Commenting on sources of inspiration, Mr. Bruno notes, “The transformation of a mound of clay into a visually and emotionally pleasing work of art affords a great feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction. With my recent retirement after a 42-year executive and management career with IBM, I’m now able to dedicate my time and energies to the development of my sculpting.”
Mr. Bruno has exhibited at juried shows throughout Connecticut and is a member of the Society of Connecticut Sculptors, The National Sculpture Society, The New Canaan Society for the Arts and the Wilton and Greenwich Arts Councils. He has studied at the Silvermine Guild Arts Center and The Clayplace Art Center.
Free at Storehouse Gallery Museum Shop during regular exhibiton hours.
Opening Reception is March 2, 2011, 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
If you would like to attend, please call 203-869-6899, Ext. 20 or email admin@greenwichhistory.org.
