RHS Production of Urinetown
Saturday, February 26, 2011

Rye High School’s Parson Street Players, under the direction of Michael Limone, will present URINETOWN, Friday, March 4th and Saturday March 5th, 2011 at the Performing Arts Center.
URINETOWN, a hilarious spoof of many Broadway musicals, is about a city in the midst of a drought so devastating that private restrooms are banned—forcing people to “pay for the privilege to pee”. The show, which was a huge success on Broadway, boasts a cast of 60 high school students who sing and dance to unforgettable songs including “Run, Freedom, Run” and “Snuff That Girl”. It is a wickedly clever satire of greed, corruption, love and revolution, and reminds us of our wastefulness and what happens when the power of the people is lost to a corporation whose only motive is profit.
Performances are Friday March 4th at 8pm and Saturday, March 5th at 2pm and 8pm. Tickets are available at the door. Adults $10, students $5 and senior citizens are free.
