The Great Acorn Hunt
• Saturday, October 16, 2010
• 2 -4 p.m. at the Rye Nature Center
• Free of charge
• All ages welcome
• Sponsored by the Little Garden Club of Rye and the Rye Garden Club
Come learn how “mighty oaks from acorns grow” at this hands-on workshop for all ages.
We will be planting acorns to sprout oak seedlings, identifying local oak tree varieties and learning why the oak tree is so vital to our ecosystem!
We will also have fun crafts for kids.
Please DO bring any acorns you can find in your neighborhood – preferably clean and dry and with their caps on! We provide the soil and containers.
