On September 24, four homes in the Harrison-Purchase area, where the outdoor living is just as important as the indoor, will be on view to the public. One home has its own private lake, another sits atop a hill, and the third boasts a waterfall and winding stream among beautiful specimen plantings. The fourth has a history: it was part of the former estate of Amelia Earhart’s husband and was reported to be one of Babe Ruth’s hangouts when he wanted to escape the city.
These one-of-a-kind homes are opened to the public for only one day. Tickets are $45 and all proceeds benefit the students at Louis M. Klein Middle School in Harrison.
