For older children (ages 9 and up) you may want to score tickets for the Opening Night Film & Party on February 26th at 6:00 pm.  The festival opens with Summer Wars the scintillating new feature from emerging anime star Mamoru Hosoda, a film whose "dazzling fluency of motion and untethered brilliance of invention makes the usual fantasy anime look childish and dull." (The Japan Times).  After the film you can join the NYICFF for the Opening Night Gala, with delicious food & drinks for children and adults.
