Experience cultural programs brought to life and visit far-away places without ever leaving Norwalk. Each month, Stepping Stones Museum for Children will take children and parents alike to different parts of the globe and highlight various cultures and people that inhabit the world. Visitors will know what destination is being featured through a map display and signage in the museum and listings on the program calendar and our website.
Throughout each month, visitors to the museum can expect a variety of programming including performances from professional artists, music, hands-on activities, youth performers and an emphasis on the visual arts. A special passport will be available for children on days with programs so they can track the different destinations they visited at the museum while creating a unique keepsake. Visitors to our website can also learn more about each country and find instructions for crafts they can do at home, information about museum programming and have the opportunity to send in their own photos from the different locations.
Furthermore, each month the Multimedia Gallery will feature a special short presentation on the designated country as well as live web cam feeds and films for family audiences. The short presentation will include photographs, artwork and maps pertaining to the country of the month and will be shown at various times each day.
