Looking for a way to extend the summer? Here's an event your whole family will love--the 4th Annual Take Me to the River Music and Arts Festival. This party-on-the-Hudson is presented by 12 Miles North, a community based organization whose goal is to develop affordable events and programming that evokes feelings, inspires thought and brings people together. How cool is that?
Bring a blanket and lawn chair and take in the sounds of folk, blues, jazz, world and alternative. The festival also includes a wide range of art and food for any pallate. Here's a sampling of other activities sure to be a hit with your family:
- 30+ musical acts performing throughout the day
- Earth Friendly Attractions including a Solar powered stage and educational area
- Kids area featuring a Zen Tree, Mosaic Mural, Giant Sling Shot and Music Tree
- Nature Tent
- Swap Tents including cd exchanges and a cool kids flea market
- Art exhibits throughout the park
- A September 11th memorial
- Great food
