A Blast of Fun

If you're looking for a special day of family fun, head to the snow-covered hills of Woodbury, Connecticut for snow tubing.
Suzy took some of her family and friends to the local resort during winter break.
Make sure to get there early -- it gets very busy on the weekends.
Woodbury claims it has eight snow tubing runs but we only saw four open yesterday. There's a "bunny hill" for the preschool set plus some sharper, cringe-inducing runs for the braver, older kids.
Suzy is a little banged up from hitting all the snow banks on the way down but it was a wonderful morning with the family.
Suzy's tips: Make sure to buy the "single tubing" ticket. You will rarely use the "doubles" and there aren't many of those tubes available.
If you have little ones, try out the bunny hill where there is rarely a wait. The "big" hill across the street from the ticket counter is the most crowded. Sneak behind the ticket shack and you'll see a shorter line and a fun run for the bigger kids.
Rates:
$30/3 hours
$37 unlimited
Hours: 9A-9P daily
Lights after dark!
More Suzy Tips:
Buy your ticket in advance and save $3.
If traveling with a crowd, buy 5 day lift tickets and get the 6th free.
Pack a lunch, the snack bar is limited.
