Organic bags to die for
Thursday, March 12, 2009

It was not too long ago when buying organic or eco-friendly goods meant that you would have little selection and only a lot of simple and earthy designs to choose from. Well that's not the case any longer as there are now many high-end designers creating modern-looking organic goods such as Stella McCartney or Bono with his Edun line.
To date my favorite organic handbag designer and also my new friend is Heather Heron. Her bags are not only designed to appeal to anyone that appreciates the look of a high-end, well-constructed bag; but are also made to appeal to those that appreciate owning a bag constructed by a socially responsible production. Trust me when I say any one of her incredible pieces would be the one-bag/clutch/tote purchase you'll never guilty about buying.
Each of Heather's pieces are all truly a work of art and go above and beyond anything that I've ever seen from an eco-conscious designer. She uses only the finest organic European hemp, highest quality leathers and fabrics, and she hand-dyes her pieces to create her one of a kind fantastically chic designs. Below I'm featuring photos of a couple of my favorite pieces, the Aspen tote I own and LOVE. I'm also giving you a sneak peek at her very latest creations where she's found a way to so tastefully and beautifully combine her wholesome materials with vintage crystals – now that's a piece to make a statement with.
