Fantastic Fall Soup

Suzy's favorite soup is a Minnesota specialty.
Minnesota Chicken Wild Rice Soup
6 Tablespoons Butter
1/2 Cup Flour
2 Cups Cooked Wild Rice
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
1/2 Cup Shredded Carrots
2 Cooked Chicken Breasts
1 Tablespoon Minced Onion
3 Cups Chicken Broth
2 Tablespoons Dry Sherry
1 Cup Half & Half
*recipe is easy to double and even triple
Melt butter in sauce pan, saute onions.
Switch to soup pot.
Add flour, gradually adding chicken broth.
Stir constantly until boil.
Stir in wild rice, let simmer 5 minutes.
Add remaining ingredients, stirring occasionally.
Add additional sherry to taste.
Garnish with slivered almonds.
