This Mother’s Day, honor your Mom by giving someone else’s mom a bed to sleep on or a table to share a family meal. Furniture Sharehouse, Westchester’s Furniture Bank, provides free furniture to families moving out of shelters, reuniting after foster care, or struggling to overcome personal or natural tragedies. Moms like Michelle from Yonkers, who writes, “Furniture Sharehouse is a god-send to countless people like me who need things but have to wait because they don’t have the money,” and Bobbi, who says “Myself, for one, have not had a bed to sleep in . . . My children have never had a dresser to put their clothes in because my budget couldn’t afford it.”
Since 2007, Furniture Sharehouse has provided over 25,000 items of free furniture to more than 5,000 needy individuals in Westchester County to help fill their empty apartments.
