Tennis Tournament Benefiting American Cancer Society
Sam King, a resident of Rye Brook and rising sophomore at Bowdoin College, and Irwin Reibeisen, a resident of Armonk and rising sophomore at Bucknell University, are organizing a Charity Tennis Event at Byram Hills High School in Armonk on Friday, August 5th - Sunday, August 7th.  All profits from the event will go to the American Cancer Society of Westchester.

The event will center around a Men's and Women's Singles and Doubles tournament, with Open Registration to anyone.  The entry fee is $40 for Singles and $60 for Doubles per team.  Matches will commence on Friday and run through Sunday, with Consolation draws for Singles.  Trophies will be awarded to the winners and finalists, and all tournament participants will receive a free t-shirt.

There will also be a Silent Auction that will run on site from Friday to Sunday.  Local businesses and individuals have been incredibly generous with donations, and are offering an array of items that will appeal to members of the community.  Items include an autographed World Team Tennis Shirt, autographed racquet, and autographed 8" x 10" photo from former World number 4 Todd Martin, 2 New York Giants tickets, a Wilson tennis racquet, 2 weeks of the full strength and conditioning program at Lifestyle Integrated Fitness Training (LIFT), a junior ski or snowboard lease package from Hickory & Tweed, and several other items including gift certificates from local restaurants, tennis lessons, and more.

Irwin's brother Ian and his popular band Voted Most Random will perform a concert on Friday night at a nearby location.  The band has played at events such as Warped Tour and Bamboozle, opened for We The Kings, and is featured on iTunes.

A Free Youth Tennis Clinic will be held on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., open to all children in the area.  Participants will take part in tennis drills and games led by experienced tennis instructors.  Free Starbucks Coffee will be provided along with bagels and other food and drink items.

There will also be a Free Pizza Party on Saturday afternoon provided by local pizza parlors, and a Free Ice Cream Party on Sunday afternoon provided by local ice cream stores.  Additional Free Food and Drink will be provided on site throughout the weekend.

We have invested a lot of time and energy into ensuring that this is an enjoyable and rewarding event for all involved.  We are hoping to engage as many members of the community as possible, so as to bring together anybody that can relate to the cause.  Cancer has affected both of our families, and we are compelled to raise money and awareness to mitigate the burdens it places on families every day.
