Classic Kids Photography "The Lovie Project"
Thursday, February 17, 2011

We all remember our own from childhood. Lovies become family members. They’ve been loved so hard they’re threadbare, their soft
patinas a true testament to the vigor of a child’s love. They are best friends who have absorbed a river of childhood tears. Classic Kids believes they are also art.
From now until April 30th, Classic Kids is photographing Lovies in exchange for the donation of a brand new Lovie for a child without one. Donated Lovies will become best friends with the children seeking shelter at Women In Need, a homeless shelter for women and their children. Families will have the opportunity to have canvas prints and other artwork made from the photos which make beautiful art pieces for decorating the home. A portion of the print proceeds will go to purchasing more Lovies for the shelter’s children.
Julie Floyd, owner of Classic Kids, notes that “This is a great opportunity for people to create meaningful, modern artwork for their home. These pieces are not only beautiful, but they tell a wonderful story. They are sure to be conversation pieces.” Adds Floyd, “It is a wonderful opportunity to give a little warmth and comfort to children without a permanent home.”
