Hilary's Super Bowl Chili Recipe!

Suzy's favorite local gal pal, chef and author Hilary Karmilowicz has given us a great new recipe just in time for the Super Bowl!! What goes better than football and chili?? You'll want to make this before the big game and enjoy it all evening long on Sunday. Enjoy!
Outrageously Delicious CHILI
Serves 8
Ingredients
2 pounds ground sirloin
1 lb sirloin steak, cut into chunks
¼ cup olive oil
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons chili powder
1-tablespoon ground cumin
1-tablespoon oregano
1-tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon of coriander
2 tablespoons mesa flour
2 beers
3 gloves of garlic
1 onion, diced
3 green peppers, diced
3 16-ounce can of kidney beans
2 boxes of Pomi chopped tomatoes
*Cheddar cheese for topping
*Chopped Red Onion for topping
Directions
- In a large soup pot, over medium heat the olive oil and add the ground sirloin. Season the sirloin with salt and pepper and sauté breaking up with a wooden spoon until it is well browned it. (3 minutes)
- Season the sirloin chinks with salt and pepper and add to the pot with the onion and green peppers.
- As it's browning stir in the chili powder, coriander, cumin, paprika, oregano garlic powder, and mesa flour. Continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
- Gradually add the beer, stirring until well incorporated.
- Lower the heat and stir in the kidney beans and chopped tomatoes.
- Allow to simmer for 2 hours, stirring frequently.
To Serve
Serve with grated cheddar cheese and chopped red onion and enjoy!
