TEDxYouth@Bruce
Youth@Bruce presents its second TEDxYouth@Bruce event – a webcast streaming live from www.tedxyouthbruce.com – at 1 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Lecture Gallery at the Bruce Museum.

The 2012 Summer Olympic Games come early to the Bruce Museum. This exciting TEDx event, themed The Olympic Spirit: Capturing the Moment, kicks-off the museum’s education programming for two new exhibitions – The Games: The Science of Sport (March 24 – August 12) and The Olympic Games: Art, Culture & Sport (May 12 – September 2).

Youth@Bruce has booked a diverse group of speakers – including journalists, sports marketers, Olympians and Paralympians – who will not only offer an abundance of Olympic wisdom but will also stimulate an engaging and thought-provoking dialogue as they share their experiences and expertise. Based on the level of interest already expressed for organizing student viewing groups, people from around the world are expected to participate.

The event opens with a welcome greeting from London by BBC broadcast journalist Dekan Apajee. Speakers include Olympians Caryn Davies, Jamie McEwan and Jason Rogers; Paralympians Sarah Reinertsen and Marlon Shirley; Dr. Tim Green, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist; Rob Prazmark, Founder and CEO of 21 Sports & Entertainment Marketing; and Michael Sokolove, contributing writer for the New York Times Magazine.

Youth@Bruce invites high school students and their teachers to participate in person. Admission is free, but seating is limited in the museum’s Lecture Gallery so reservations are necessary. Arrival by 12:30 pm is recommended. There will be no admittance to the Lecture Gallery after 1 pm. A simulcast will be shown in the museum’s Education Workshop.
