Hawk's Cay Resort

Suzy recently went on a vacation (desperate to get away from the cold and rain) and took the family to what instantly became her new favorite spot- Hawk's Cay on Duck Key in Florida. Well under three hours from Miami or Fort Lauderdale airports, the scenic drive through the upper Keys was a beautiful preface to Duck Key. Hawks Cay has it all- beautiful views, crystal clear water (and great snorkeling), a variety of restaurants, kids' programs for little guys through teenagers, even an on-site dolphin adventure where you can feed the dolphins yourself!!
The resort features a hotel and several areas of villas (including some with their own pool) and each of the villas has a kitchen and washer and dryer (think no large loads of laundry when you get home!). The water sports are almost endless- Suzy and her little ones all snorkeled, jet skiied, rode paddle boards, kayaked, even went on a "snuba" trip. Our kids loved having an ice cream at the marina and watching the fishing boats come in with their catches of the day that they'd filet right there and even cook at the restaurant for you if you wanted. And the kids absolutely loved all of the kid-friendly activities that the Indies Club provided, including Kids' Night Out (which gave Mom and Dad a nice date night), tie-dyeing t-shirts, a fully stocked game room and more. 
If you are looking for a beautiful, laid-back, family-friendly vaca that will be fun for the whole family, you should absolutely check out Hawks Cay. Just pack your flip flops, tees and shorts and you'll be all set. Tell them Suzy sent you- Suzy can't wait to go back next year!!
