Girls' Night Out Rye Historical Society
Sunday, February 05, 2012

Who says history has to be boring or stodgy? Come to the Square House Museum on Thursday, February 9 at 7:30 – 9:30 PM and bring along friends for a fun evening of history, wine and refreshments. The Rye Historical Society is pleased to introduce this new series of Girls’ Night Out! events that will feature costumes and other items from our collection to illustrate how our counterparts lived and dressed in other time periods.
This kick-off evening will “Unlace the Victorian Woman”. We’ll work our way through the many layers of clothing worn in those days – from the outer dress to the not-so-Victoria’s Secret style unmentionables. Along the way attendees will learn about the role of women in Victorian society, their daily routines, social customs and etiquette.
Space is limited so reservations are suggested and can be made by calling the Rye Historical Society at (914) 967-7588. Tickets are $20 for members, $30 for non-members. The Square House Museum is located at 1 Purchase Street, Rye, NY.
For more information, please call (914) 967-7588 or visit our website Rye History.
