Women's Health Initiative Lecture Series Losing Weight and Keeping It Off
Have you stuck to that New Years Resolution of keeping off or taking off that 10lbs? At the Woman's Health Initiative Series, Losing Weight and Keeping it Off you will be guided to keep those goals.

Every day we're bombarded by environmental stimuli and marketing messages, developed with the help of psychologists, encouraging us to eat. In a society where food is cheap and calories are dense, it's no wonder that so many people have trouble keeping their weight at a healthy level.

This is how Christopher Mosunic, a psychologist himself, looks at the challenge of weight control. "Food is the only acceptable form of coping that gets rid of negative emotions," he says. "What are the big addictions? Drugs, alcohol, sex, gambling, food. Given the choices, most people choose food. It's legal and provides comfort."

Mosunic is one of a handful of professionals nationally credentialed as both a clinical psychologist and a registered dietitian. He is also a certified diabetes educator. His insights about human behavior and our relationship with food provide a new understanding for people who have tried repeatedly to lose weight and can't seem to maintain the loss.

What works for one person will often not work for another. Mosunic's talk will offer a refreshing new approach to weight loss, and help you develop the tools that suit your personal goals and maintenance needs.
