Making the Holidays Enjoyable, Not Stressful
The holidays can be tricky for everyone, and Suzy pal and family therapist Deborah Morgan, LCSW has put together some tips to help make the season as calm and enjoyable as possible...

Once again the holidays are upon us and for some people that means a time of joy, laughter and fun. However, for others the holiday season can be a time of depression, anxiety and leave us feeling extremely overwhelmed.

Here are five helpful tips that can fight away the holiday blues:

1) Get organized, make a to-do list and prioritize.
2) Lower your expectations, you're only one person.
3) Take time out for yourself to exercise, eat healthy, get sufficient rest, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol as it is a depressant.
4) Surround yourself with supportive people who uplift you, cherish you and make you feel good about being you.
5) Find aspects of your life that you are grateful for and focus on them- “have an attitude of gratitude”.

Know the signs of depression and anxiety and if you feel like you maybe suffering from them, call Deborah Morgan, LCSW to schedule an appointment and begin the process of creating the life you have always wanted.
