Family Pumpkin Carving Day
Tuesday, October 04, 2011

Silly scarecrows, scary jack-o-lanterns, warm apple cider, vibrant colors and the sound of leaves rustling in the wind are traditional fall scenes and memories. On Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m., families are invited to start a new tradition at the Square House Museum’s annual “Family Pumpkin Carving Day”.
After carefully choosing just the right pumpkin from the “Square House Pumpkin Patch” families can let their creativity run wild. Children will also be able to enjoy a selection of fun fall themed crafts. The cost is $20 per family and includes pumpkin, carving tools and crafts. Reservations are suggested, as space is limited and can be made by calling the Rye Historical Society at (914) 967-7588. The Square House Museum is located at 1 Purchase Street, Rye, NY.
The Square House Museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. For more information, please call (914) 967-7588 or visit their website, Rye Historical Society.
