Members in good standing can borrow passes to selected museums and regional cultural institutions, free of charge.

Currently, the library has family passes for the following institutions:

American Museum of Natural History
Barnum Museum - New
Bruce Museum
Children’s Museum of Manhattan
Discovery Museum and Planetarium
Frick Collection
Guggenheim Museum
Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum
Katonah Museum of Art
Museum of the City of New York
Neuberger Museum of Art
New York City Fire Museum
New York Historical Society
Paley Center for Media
Stepping Stones Museum for Children - Buy one admission, get one free

Guidelines for Borrowing a Museum Pass
Museum passes may be borrowed by Rye residents who are library cardholders in good standing, but there are a few rules.
Family museum passes are available to Rye Free Reading Room card holders who are residents of the City of Rye, over the age of 18 and in good standing. All fines must be paid and overdue items returned before borrowing a pass.
Passes may be reserved up to a month in advance. Only one pass at a time may be borrowed per family, only three reservations can be made in a 30 day period. The full loan period is three days (two nights) but shorter loan periods are possible. Make your reservation for the day you wish to visit the museum. You can pick up the pass at the library the day before your museum visit (This counts as day 1.) The pass must be returned by the close of the library the due date and cannot be renewed. A fine of $10 will be charged for each day the pass is late. Passes will be checked out at the adult reference desk and must be returned to the adult reference desk in person; they may not be returned in the book drop or to another library. A fine of $10 will be charged if the pass is returned in the book drop. The full cost of the pass will be charged to the patron if the pass is not returned within seven (7) days. The cost of each pass varies and may be up to $250. In addition, the library may charge a replacement service charge of $50.
