Shop and Give with the Designing Women of Rye
Tuesday, April 20, 2010

Shop for a cause with the help of The Woman's Club of Rye, Children’s Philanthropy. On Tuesday, May 4, The Woman’s Club of Rye, Children’s Philanthropy invites you to attend its 6th annual Designing Women of Rye & Beyond boutique fundraiser, from 10 a.m. to 8 pm at the Rye Arts Center. The event showcases local women who own their own unique businesses and have a strong sense of community: each designer contributes a portion of their proceeds back to the Woman’s Club for distribution to local organizations whose programs benefit Rye children and families in need. This year’s event features jewelry, clothing, the latest accessories, handbags, vintage jewelry and gifts, home furnishings, sweets and stationery. Shoppers also have the opportunity to purchase a raffle for a complete summer barbecue for 20 people, with all the fixings from Boar’s Head.
The Woman's Club of Rye, Children's Philanthropy, is a volunteer organization with some 45 women members. It holds several fundraisers throughout the year and disperses the proceeds to local organizations including the Rye Arts Center, Rye Youth Council, Rye Nature Center, and Kids' S.P.A.C.E., all of which support the children of Rye. Once again this year, Children's Philanthropy will be awarding two high school scholarships based on a student's community service and desire to make a difference in the lives of less fortunate children in Rye.
