The Melting Pot Hits the Spot
Suzy had a great time the other night dining out Latin-style at The Melting Pot in White Plains. Having not been before, she wasn't quite sure what to expect but boy she was not disappointed. Enjoying their limited-time-only Big Night Out Latin America menu, the dining experience began with a delicious cheese fondue including jalapenos (as mild or hot as you like) with a beer-base and lime flavoring, accompanied by fresh veggies, homemade breads and chips.

As if this wasn't yummy enough, a delish shrimp ceviche citrus salad came out with fresh pineapple and avacado puree and this made Suzy so happy! On to the main entree which was a huge assortment of fresh veggies and proteins that can be dipped in one of four different Latin-inspired cooking styles. Suzy chose the Coq au Vin version which included fresh herbs, spices, garlic and burgundy wine. We dipped everything from filet, shrimp, citrus-marinated pork (our personal fave) and mushrooms and baked potatoes in this delectable sauce and were so happy we did!
Then of course there was the chocolate dessert fondue finale and it was as great as you are imagining it was! Mini brownies, fruit, pound cake, mushrooms and even rice krispy treats were dunked in the decadent dark chocolate as a perfect ending for a great meal.

Whether you are going out with the girls or taking the kids out for a fun evening, The Melting Pot is the place to go. Comprised of lots of private rooms and even a few available party rooms, Suzy was amazed at how easy it was to talk across the table compared to so many of the noisier haunts we are used to dining in. And you can't rush because you are cooking your own food as you go so there is no dine and dash here- you actually get to enjoy one another's company!

And there are great events going on that make it even more fun to head to the Melting Pot. For instance, Family Fondue Sundays (White Plains location only – Sundays 12-4pm) where they make Sunday afternoon mealtime, quality family time. Fondue dining allows everyone to enjoy good conversation, eat slowly and savor each bite! Parents can enjoy a three-course meal (salad, entrée and chocolate) for $28 and kids under 14 can eat for just $16 (entrée and chocolate). They also have the Straight A's Club where kids grade K-12 can bring in their straight A report card and they can get a three-course fondue dinner (grades 9-12 get a salad as well)! That's enough to get our kids to buckle down at school!

Head to The Melting Pot and tell them Suzy sent you- you'll be sure to love your meal and the whole experience!!
