Love is Not Abuse
Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Did you know that 1 in 3 teens who have been in a relationship report actual sexual abuse, physical abuse, or threats of physical abuse by a partner.
Love Is Not Abuse is committed to stopping teen dating abuse before it happens by providing educational tools, info on teen dating abuse warning signs and where to get help.
The new iPhone app for Love is Not Abuse is now available. It's designed to teach parents about the dangers of teen dating abuse in a very real way. The app provides a dramatic demonstration of how technology can be used to commit abuse. Over the course of the experience, text messages, emails and phone calls are received real-time, mimicking the controlling, abusive behaviors teens might face in their relationships. The impact is immediate and important: empowering parents to talk to their kids.
The app also includes facts on dating abuse, warning signs, tips on how to talk to teens, and immediate, concrete steps to take if they suspect their child is involved in an abusive relationship.
